Michael was admitted to practice law in Jamaica in 2015 after obtaining his Bachelors of Law with Honours at the University of Technology Jamaica Western Campus and his Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School.
His primary areas of practice with the Firm are Criminal Law, Civil Law, Conveyancing, Debt Recovery, Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury, Labour Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. At the Firm Michael has advised Clients on various Civil and Criminal matters. He has also had the privilege of representing Clients in various Courts across the Island.
He is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association and the Cornwall Bar Association. Whilst attending the Norman Manley Law School Michael was an active member of the Men at Work Club. He was a member of Norman Manley Law School’s Margaret Forte Inter-Schools Regional Trial Mooting Competition Team (Advocate) who were victors of the 2015 Competition against the Hugh Wooding Law School held in The Bahamas. Michael now serves the Norman Manley Law School as an Advocacy Coach of the Margaret Forte Inter-Schools Regional Trail Mooting Competition.
Michael was also the recipient of The Hon. Mr. Justice Kenneth Smith O.J. Prize (shared) for best performance in Trial advocacy at the Norman Manley Law School. He currently tutors at the Institute of Law and Economics. Michael is also a member of the Publishing Committee of EQUITY, the quarterly Newsletter of the Cornwall Bar Association and has published several articles in various editions of the Magazine.
